(i) Sign boards of Nominal size 1.2m x 1.2m diamond or square shaped of steel sheet with black letters painted on a yellow background will be used. Letter size shall be minimum 12 cm in the height. Signs shall be placed at 100 meters intervals commencing 500 meters from the Work site. The signs shall be placed approximately 2 meters right and 1.5 meters above the edge of pavement facing oncoming traffic. Typical sign wordings in Urdu and English, to be used are : (1) DETOUR AHEAD; (2) FLAGMEN AHEAD; (3) ONE LANE ROAD AHEAD; (4) ROAD CONSTRUCTION AHEAD; (5) ROAD CLOSED AHEAD; (6) MEN WORKING; (7) SLOW AND STOP; and more.
(ii) All of the these afore-mentioned sign or more as needed by the Engineer will be translated in Urdu and used at locations asked the Engineer.
(iii) In addition, other warning or regulatory signs shall be developed and located, as the Engineer may direct to facilitate the flow of traffic written in Urdu and English.
