1.2 Intake Arrangement

Raw Water from the Stilling Basin shall flow by gravity through 3 no pipes each of 24 inches dia in to the Sump to be constructed on the bank of the Basin. A pump room shall be constructed above the sump. 6 No vertical turbine pumps each of 6 cusecs capacity shall be installed in the pump room to transmit raw water to the Reception Tank i.e first treatment unit of the Water Treatment Plant. These pumps will be special abrasion resistant pumps that can handle waters of high suspended matter and turbidity loads. The operational control of the raw water pumps shall be provided in the pump house as well as in the electric control panel room to be constructed in the treatment plant area.
