The chemical House shall house chemicals for the feeding and storage facilities. Chemical delivery shall be from the unloading area located on one side of the chemical house. The preparation of alum and lime solutions and dosing at different points in the plant shall be controlled from the Chemical House. Two tanks for the preparation and dosing of alum solution and one tank for the preparation and dosing of lime solution shall be constructed. Each tank shall be fitted with mixer for the preparation of the chemical solution. To protect against the corrosive action of the alum tanks shall be provided with anticorrosive lining. Three alum dosing pumps (two working, one standby) and two lime dosing pumps (1 working, 1 standby) shall be installed outside the alum and lime solution tanks respectively. Jar test performed on the raw water will determine the actual concentration of alum and lime to be dosed.
An overhead Crane shall be installed to facilitate the shifting of Alum and lime bags from the storage area to the solution preparation tanks.
Appropriate area shall be provided in the Chemical House for all the storage of the Alum and Lime bags.
