1.6.9 Clear Water Tank & Pumping House

A clear water tank shall be constructed at the treatment plant to serve as a balancing tank to meet the high and low demands of water. The initial part of the treatment plant shall be baffled to server as a Chlorine Contact Tank. Baffles shall carry out the mixing of water and chlorine which is necessary for the complete disinfection of water.

A Pump House shall be built above the Clear Water Tank for the installation of Pumps which shall supply water to the Intermediate Pumping Station through a transmission main. All pumps to be installed on the pumping stations shall be of vertical turbine pumps.
